Today’s housing market is full of extremes. Record low interest rates paired with low inventory has created buyer frenzy, and these market conditions can be overwhelming. Having someone you trust on your side to help guide you through the process of buying and selling can give you confidence and success through each step.
With so many agents out there, it can be difficult to spot the good agents from the, well, not so great. Here are a few tips to help you find a professional you trust:
• 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬- ask friends and family members if they can recommend a real estate agent with whom they’ve had a good experience. I recommend interviewing at least 2-3 agents.
• 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴-start by examining their online presence and client reviews. Don’t forget to also check their website and social media accounts.
• 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴- ask the top contenders to provide information on homes they’ve listed and sold in the past year, with contact information for at least a few recent clients. This goes for buyers as well. Ask the past clients how much support the agent provided throughout the process, and if they would hire them again.
• 𝘎𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘶𝘵- go with an agent you trust and feel comfortable with. This is probably the biggest investment you’ll ever make, so it is important to like the person who will be guiding you along the way.
